The annual Michigan Greenhouse Growers Expo, which has traditionally been held in early November in Lansing, is moving to Grand Rapids in 2009. This year, Expo will be held in coordination with the Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable and Farm Market Expo on December 8-10 in the DeVos Place Convention Center and the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.

The Michigan Greenhouse Growers Expo will still be planned by the Michigan State University Floriculture AoE Team, the Western Michigan Greenhouse Association, and the Metro Detroit Flower Growers’ Association. Greenhouse grower participants will be able to attend a broader variety of educational sessions that may be of interest, such as talks on alternative crops, organic production, and labor issues. Growers will also be able to enter the combined trade show, which will include additional suppliers from these related industries. The lodging and dining options, as well as the conference venue, will provide growers with more appealing options before, during, and after the show.
