We’re very fortunate to be able to fill the MSU Floriculture Extension Educator position in southeast Michigan. Greenhouse growers and related industries are invited to listen to short (30-minute) presentations from each of the three job candidates. The candidates will give their presentations on Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Washtenaw County Extension office, which is located at 705 Zeeb Road in Ann Arbor (click here for an interactive map). The search and selection committee welcomes grower input, as this will impact you – the floriculture industry in Michigan – the most.

The start times for the three presentations are 2:00 PM for candidate Ellyn Meyers, 2:45 PM for William Faber, and 3:30 PM for John Griffis Jr. Each candidate has been asked to prepare a 20-minute presentation on current challenges and opportunities in the greenhouse industry with an emphasis on production in Michigan. They have also been asked to describe how they are uniquely qualified to help growers produce floriculture crops. Each presentation will be followed by a 5- to 10-minute period for questions and answers.

This is a very busy time of the year, but your participation is important for the future of your business and our industry.
