Forecast guidance shows a short wave upper air feature moving through the region on Wednesday, June 17, bringing precipitation to the state. Precipitation should be state-wide, but higher amounts in the southern areas of the state. Many areas will experience near 0.25 inches of precipitation (some models suggesting over an inch). A ridge moves through the region on Thursday bringing more precipitation as it is quickly followed by another upper air-through feature. The highest amount of precipitation should occur in the central part of the lower peninsula.

High temperatures on Wednesday will range from the low 60’s in the upper peninsula to 75°F in the southern part of the lower peninsula, lows will range from the low 50’s to near 60°F. On Thursday, highs will range across the state from 70 to 80°F degrees with lows in the 50’s. Friday will see a large temperature range across the state as the short wave through moves through with highs in the upper 60’s in the Upper Peninsula ranging up to the mid-80’s in the south-west of the state. Lows on Friday will range from the mid-50’s to the mid-60’s.

The 6 to 10 day forecast, June 21 to June 25, suggests that temperatures will be near normal for the Lower Peninsula, but slightly above normal for the Upper Peninsula. Precipitation will be near normal for the entire state. The 8 to 14 day forecast, June 23 to June 29, shows that temperature and precipitation will be near normal for the entire state.
